South Bay Aesthetics is proud to be one of the first plastic surgery practices to offer the newly approved  Sientra Silicone Gel Breast Implants–a high-strength, state-of-the-art implant in round and shaped profiles, also known as the “gummy bear” implant! Catering exclusively to board-certified plastic surgeons, Sientra enters the U.S. market as the third FDA approved provider of silicone gel breast implants.  Already popular worldwide, Sientra comes from the internationally recognized and trusted parent company Silimed, the world’s third largest medical silicone implant manufacturer with over 1.5 million plastic surgery patients.

Once you have chosen to have breast augmentation, you will decide upon saline or silicone gel implants. While, generally, this is a personal choice, patients and plastic surgeons agree that silicone gel implants offer a more natural appearance and feel. Until now, your only options were Allergan or Mentor breast implants. In my practice, it is always your choice of implant brand. Adding Sientra to your selection allows more and better options to create beautiful results in a larger spectrum of patients.

What makes Sientra implants different? Sientra is made of a superior material: a high-strength, extremely low-bleed cohesive silicone gel.  If you have heard the term “gummy bear” implants, you should know that this was the nickname of Sientra silicone gel implants, and has now been generalized to all silicone gel implants.  Sientra’s focus is simple: profile, proportion and projection.  Sientra offers two profile options that address the upper and lower pole of the breast, allowing my patients to achieve their desired profile results.  The proportional relationship of the implant base to the patient’s chest wall is critical. With the previous two manufacturers, we were limited to “one shape fits all.”  With Sientra, we have 3 base options of round, oval and classic to fit the patient’s individual needs. Sientra implants also come in low, moderate and high projections for your preference.

One of the most outstanding features of the Sientra breast implant is the warranty.  There is a limited lifetime warranty on your implants if there is a rupture. If required, they will include a free contralateral (opposite side) implant. They will also reimburse up to $3600 in surgeon, operating room and anesthesia fees for the first 10 years; the most of any implant manufacturer.  Unlike its competitors, Sientra stamps each implant with a unique serial number.  You are automatically enrolled in the Sientra Limited Warranty and Product Replacement Programs.

Giving you your desired results is my goal as a surgeon.  With Sientra, my goal has just become even more achievable.  For more information on Sientra Silicone Gel Breast Implants, or breast augmentation in general, please feel free to contact our office for a complementary consultation to address your individual needs.
