Photofacials, also known as IPL treatments, is a laser technology that uses the energy of light to resurface the top layers of the skin on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Photofacials are especially successful in reducing the appearance of dark spots (hyperpigmentation) and restoring a more even color palate to your skin.
Photofacials work by using light energy to target the pigment in the skin. The laser sends a burst of energy to these darker areas that destroys the skin with the pigment and allows the skin to eventually slough away the damaged layers. With each treatment, the laser is able to penetrate deeper layers of the skin, giving you a more intense result each time. The result is a more youthful, more evenly colored skin.
